For those who ran events in 2009 the system is the same and the prizes are the same as in 2009.
Of course the fridge magnets have the 2010 design.

For those who ran events in 2008 the system is same. Some of the prizes are different. We keep
the popular fridge magnets, with the 2009 design, but the bugs are replaced by erasers and
the heat winner gets a trophy to go with their prize of either a key ring or wallet. |

For those who ran events in 2007 the system is same, except for the following: |
- Passing - pass stones must be given on every pass and not just after a restart
- Last play - must be made by white, even if a third pass in a row is made
- Komi - is now 7 points
- Ko Rule - the repetition rule now also applies to any previous same position
(though this is extremely rare and probably undetectable)

- The national finals will be at the end of the summer term, in London.
- Discretion - strong players may attend the finals if they
are unable to take part in the heats for some unavoidable reason
