For those who ran events in 2007 the system is same, except for the following: |
- Prizes - this year Top Prizes (a Nihon Ki-in phone strap) is included
- Passing - pass stones must be given on every pass and not just after a restart
- Last play - must be made by white, even if a third pass in a row is made
- Komi - is now 7 points
- Ko Rule - the repetition rule now also applies to any previous same position
(though this is extremely rare and probably undetectable)

- The national finals will be at Milton Community Centre near Cambridge on 6th July 2008
- Discretion - you or us have discretion to allow strong players to attend the finals if they
are unable to take part in the heats for some unavoidable reason
- Geographic Go Galas - we hope to have one day Geographic Go Galas in some regions
